Vernal Area

Dinosaur National Monument
Our Lodore Canyon and Yampa River trips cut through the heart of Dinosaur National Monument, which is a major attraction straddling the Utah/Colorado border. The monument Quarry is one of the best places in the world to view dinosaur fossils and learn about prehistoric animal life.

Dinosaur National Monument includes thousands or acres of rugged wilderness, bisected by the mighty Green and Yampa rivers. The rivers serve as travel corridors into scenic areas that are otherwise all be inaccessible.

Utah Field House of Natural History
Located in Vernal, this Utah State Park features a museum and life-like replicas of area dinosaurs. It also offers information on early human and animal life.

Flaming Gorge/Green River
Massive Flaming Gorge Reservoir is a popular water playground attracting fishermen, boaters and campers. It is one of the best places in the world to catch trophy lake trout. Kokanee salmon, rainbow trout and smallmouth bass are also commonly pulled from its cold waters.

The Green River below Flaming Gorge Dam is one of America's best blue-ribbon trout streams. It supports exceptional numbers of brown, rainbow and cutthroat trout, including some of trophy size.

Steinaker & Red Fleet State Parks
These small reservoirs near Vernal provide good trout and bass fishing and are excellent destinations for boating.

Uinta Mountains
The Uintas, the highest mountains in Utah, are famous hiking/backpacking destinations offering hundreds of small lakes and streams. Much of this area is managed as wilderness and is not accessible via automobile.

Park City/Salt Lake City area

Ski Resorts
Park City Mountain Resort, Deer Valley and The Canyons resort offer world-class skiing in the Park City area. Snowbird, Alta, Brighton and Solitude provide excellent skiing in nearby Salt Lake canyons.

Professional Sports
The Utah Jazz plays NBA basketball in Salt Lake City. Real Salt Lake plays Major League Soccer, the Utah Grizzlies play in the American Hockey League and the Salt Lake Stingers play AAA baseball.
